Crochet Coaster

Hi Friends,

After lots of trials with yarns and stitches using crochet I finally
came up with a new item- COASTERS!!!!!

It turned out pretty well and I made 3 more.
After making this first one I am thinking to gift the next one for someone.
These coasters would be perfect for glasses; small bowls, coffee mugs etc. These are much better than a plastic one because it is cotton and absorbs the water easier. It is washable too.

The next one is on the hook……

  Have a Nice Day…..

Recycled Flower Vase

Hi Friends, this time am coming with an interesting item.

A Recycled Flower Vase….

All of us are throwing the soft drink bottles after its use. Even am also. Few months back only I have thrown so much of bottles. Some days before I saw some interesting craft using these bottles. But at that time I didn't have any bottles with me. Then I searched in the kitchen and found one mineral water bottle. I decided to try with that. This is the result of that Experiment.

Paper flowers are easy to make and give an extra look to the interior. You have so many options with these flowers, make it small to decorate gifts or make a bouquet for a side table or a center piece. This bouquet will last long and no watering required.

Have fun with it.

MINI SHOULDER BAG- Crochet work

This time I have made a Mini Shoulder Bag. When I say Mini, it is really Mini

It looks like a clutch purse and the size also that much. It is good enough to fit a mobile and some small things (may be lipstick or lip gloss or lip balm etc). It makes a beautiful little girl’s purse or a small shoulder / cross body bag to hold small items.

ANTHURIUM - Nylon craft

After a small break I have made something new......
It's a beautiful Anthurium Flower.
I like this flower a lot so we have planted so many plants in our house. I think we are having 4 different colors.
After making the Orchids using nylon I was thinking about an Anthurium. Making of this flower is very easy compare to others.
Actually I wanted to make white and red flowers , but at this time I don't have it , so tried with yellow.

Materials needed:-

Nylon cloth     Tissue paper/cotton      Thread      Wire      Glue    Cutter and Scissors   Flower tape

Making:-
1. Take a piece of tissue paper/cotton an wrap it around the stem.   then apply glue over it. Wrap the nylon cloth over that and tie it with thread.
2. Take another wire and cut according to the size of your flower. Make a loop and wrap the cloth over it. Tie it with thread and shape it.
3. Take both the pieces and tie them together. Fold the sides and shape it.
4. Wrap the flower tape around the wire.

Now your Anthurium is ready.........

CROCHET INTRODUCTION

Crochet is a process of creating fabric from yarn, woolen thread, or other material strands using a crochet. Basic materials required for crochet are a hook and some woolen threads. It is an interesting craft. There are different basic crochet stitches to learn. Learning is a little difficult but once you got the knowledge and skill you will create wonderful things out of this.

I don’t know how to teach each and every stitches and steps so better you can search it in the internet. There are lots of “free crochet patterns for beginners” are available.

Some most common stitches which we uses in the patterns are chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, half single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, triple crochet etc. By using these we can make shell stitch, puff stitch, V stitch etc.

Using crochet we can make a number of things like table mats, doilies, bags, pouches, dolls, coasters, hair bands etc.

Once you have learned the basic stitches, you will start your first pattern. The crochet patterns are written using many abbreviations and terms, which reduce the space and make patterns easier to read.

MY NEW CREATION - ORCHID (Nylon Craft)

This is one of my new works. When I was making the flowers using the nylon material I thought why should try one orchid with this………

Next day I start my work and within half day one bunch of orchid flower is ready……..

Making of this orchid is very simple as the other one. For this we need:  nylon cloth (here I am using white and dark pink color), wire (golden / silver), glue, stamens, green flower tape, thread, tissue paper, scissor.

How to make:-
 ·  Take the wire and cut it into pieces of       3”length. (For one flower we need 6 petals ,one petal will be little larger than the others)
 ·  Loop the wire around any round things like small bottles. ( Here I have used the same gum bottle’s cap)
 ·  Remember that one petal is differing from others. For that we have to take one refill of the pen and wind the wire over it. Now we will get a spring. Then pull the both ends and we will get a zigzag wire. Loop the wire as mention above.
 ·  Divide the petals (3+2+1) or (5+1). 3 Petals will be wrapped with dark pink nylon, 2 petals and the zigzag one with white nylon. Or 5 petals with pink and zigzag with white nylon.
 ·  Shape the petals by pulling and pushing.
 ·  Next is the arrangement of petals. First we have to take the zigzag one, that is the innermost petal, and attach a stamen on it with the help of the thread. Then take the 2 white petals and attach it around the first one. Next is the outer layer of 3 pink petals, attach them around the white petals with thread.
 ·  Now your flower is ready, make 5 or more flowers like this.
 ·  We need buds for our orchid, so for that take some tissue paper strips and wrap around a piece of wire and cover it with nylon cloth. Now the buds are also ready.
 ·  Arrange the flowers and buds on a thick wire and wrap the flower tape around it.
 ·  Look the orchid is ready………

Please try it and leave the comments…………………

TISSUE PAPER - ROSE

Tissue paper is a very less expensive material for the craft. We can make different types of flowers using this. There are different colors of tissue papers available in the market. But I didn't get the colored one so I am using the white one.

There are so many methods to make the tissue flowers. Here I am showing a simple one that everyone can try this

Materials required for this tissue rose are:Tissue Papers (different colors), Gum, Wire, Green Floral Tape, and Scissors

First of all we have to cut the tissue paper into several f lower shaped petals (fig 1). For that we need a cut out of flower on a thick paper. By placing this over the tissue we can cut the petals easily and all of them will be in the same size and shape.

fig 1
Second step is to make the stem o the flower. For this we have to take a small piece of tissue and wrap around the tip of the wire with the help of gum. Leave it for some seconds to dry. After that make small holes at the center of each petal. Then insert the other end of the wire through the petals. First layer should be very close to the tissue that we wrapped earlier.  For that apply some glue on the petal and press it smoothly from its sides. Like this way take 5 or more petals and arrange it.

The last step is the wrapping of floral tape around the wire. You

can also attach leaves over it.  Arrange these flowers in a vase....

IS IT SIMPLE ONE ….

PLEASE TRY IT…..

SIMPLE GIFT FROM A SISTER

After making a mobile pouch for my mummy the next is definitely one for my sister. She wants a pouch of some attractive colors. So I told her to select the colors. She went to the shop and brought some blue and violet colored woolen threads. By using that I made a double colored pouch and stitch a small crochet flower over the flap.
She likes that very much. I used some slip stitches, single crochet and shell stitches for this pouch. I think it looks better than the previous ones.

I made one more for my cousin sister. In that I used the same stitches in a different pattern. In this also I have attached one crochet flower with a bead at the center and one chain on the top left.
If you know crochet, you can try different stitches in different pattern and make beautiful pouches, bags etc with this.
