NYLON CRAFT

NYLON FLOWERS:

The art of nylon flower making is an easy to learn craft which uses simple tools and inexpensive material to achieve a good result. The basic materials needed to make nylon flowers include: wire, nylon cloths (nylon stocking), thread, green flower tape and stamen. There are different colors of nylon cloth and stamens are available in the market.

The basic steps involved in making nylon flowers, which are:

v  Make a wire loop

v  Wrap wire loop with nylon

v  Shape loops into petals or leaves

v  Attach petals and leaves to stem

v  Wrap the flower tape on the stem

v  Arrange flowers and leaves

Some of my works are given below:

PROJECT 1:

Materials required:

Stockings- Baby pink color, Golden wire, Green Tape, Thread, Stamen, Scissors.

Procedure:  

                                      i.Take the golden wire and cut into pieces of 3” each.

                                    ii.Loop the wire with the help of small bottle or anything like that.

                                  iii.Wrap the loop with the nylon or stocking.

                                  iv.Shape the loop like a petal by pulling and pushing.

                                    v.Cut another wire of desired length and attach the stamen on it by using the thread.

                                  vi.Then attach the petals on the stem and tie it with thread.

                                vii.Finally wrap the flower tape on the stem.

                              viii.Make more flowers and arrange it with leaves.

PROJECT 2:  ROSE

Materials required:     

Stockings - Any colors, Golden wire, Green Tape, Thread, Scissors.

           

Procedure:  

                                   i.   Take the golden wire and cut into 9 pieces of 3” each.

                                    ii.Loop the wire with the help of small bottle or anything like that.

                                  iii.Make zigzag shaped edge by using the fingertip (7 no).

                                  iv.Wrap the loop with the nylon or stocking.

                                    v.The 2 plain loops wrap around a pencil and remove it .Now you will get the innermost petals of the flower.

                                  vi.Shape the other loops like a petal by pushing the sides.

                                vii.Cut another wire of desired length and then attach the plain petals using thread on the stem.

                              viii.It is the inner layer. For the next layer take 3 zigzag petals and attach one by one on the stem.

                                  ix.Similar ways do the outer layer of 4 zigzag petals. 

                                    x.Finally wrap the flower tape on the stem.

                                  xi.Make more flowers and arrange it with leaves.
